This article results from data analysis of a research about the use of crack in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, named The reality of crack in Santa Cruz do Sul. We consider discourses produced by family when they face the relationship of dependency that its children establish with drug and about the effects of risk this discourses can produce on the researcher. It is realized that a form of alienation governs life and controls relatives feelings, in a movement that keeps them away from any reflection/implication with the matter of the use of drugs by its children and/or relatives. The use of crack is understood as something that comes from outside and damages family's life which is known as balanced and with no problems. A comprehension of this problem is given to the researcher as something ephemeral, punctual, no plot, ahistorical which appears suddenly and takes those people lives. Since the comprehension of Foucault about Greek parrhesia, we propose a reflection about the effects of risks and horizons those meetings can implicate on the researchers of the matter of drug.
