The generative perspective proposes that dialogue, reflection, narratives, and generative learning gives rise to processes of dialogical creation between persons that encourage gradual co-construction of possibilities, coordination of actions and of knowledges, and joint innovation. These innovations constitute alternatives with which to approach creatively the difficulties that occasioned the consultation. This article addresses the process in its entirety: the role of the professional and the construction of a work platform; moments, cycles, and matrixes in the dialogue; nodes and narrative plotlines; innovation and the design of a future with emphasis on the complex relationship and dynamic between dialogue, narrative, inquiry, and generative learning. The resources provided by this perspective are useful to therapy and other psycho-social interventions. It looks to examples taken from therapy and from community mediation to illustrate the use of the concepts presented.
