BACIGALUPE, Gonzalo  e  PARKER, Kimberly. Transnational connections through emerging technologies. Nova perspect. sist. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.56, pp. 94-107. ISSN 0104-7841.

Information communication technologies shape identity and human development. Immigrant children and youth are not an exception. This article explores the ways in which emerging technologies shape and influence intergenerational relationships within and across families. The mainstreaming of communication technologies questions commonly accepted notions of immigrant psychology including developmental and emotional tasks, family relationships, and how we construe agency among the immigrant children and youth. We explore the challenges and opportunities that emerging technologies pose to inform clinical practitioners in providing competent services for immigrant families.  These emerging transnational care systems are not new phenomena but they are mainstreaming across the world.

Palavras-chave : emerging technologies; immigration; transnational families; children; youth; information communication technologies.
