The genogram as an auxiliary technical in the practice of the psychologist, whether in the clinic or context of SUS and SUAS for other professionals is the focus of this article. To illustrate the use of this resource will be presented the construction of the genogram of a remarried couple. The genogram contributed to the therapeutic process in several aspects such as providing the professional the visibility of all the members of the families, the relationships between them. The visualization of the familiar map is useful for the understanding of the positions that each one occupies in the family and advances in the formulation of systemic hypotheses. As each person, the family has your history, beliefs, standards. The genogram is unique and the information collected will also differentiate according to the particularities of each family. The systematization of the contributions that the genogram brings helps the professional to rethink questions of the treatment, as well as subsidizes the discussions with the other professionals who sometimes also attend the same family. The relevant contribution of the use of the genogram in the contexts of SUS and SUAS enables both reflection and generation of new ideas and identification of potential family resources in the face of the problems they bring to care. Both in case discussions and in supervisions, having this instrument in hand help much to think about potential problems in the family and how to follow the treatment.
