GARCIA-MONTES, José Manuel  and  PEREZ-ALVAREZ, Marino. Experimental foundations and early clinical applications of acceptance and commitment therapy in the field of psychotic disorders. Rev. Latinoam. Psicol. [online]. 2005, vol.37, n.2, pp. 379-393. ISSN 0120-0534.

This paper examines both experimental foundations and early clinical results of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in the field of psychotic symptoms. We describe the current state in the area making reference to the most relevant models and psychological treatments. Then, evidence supporting auditory hallucinations and deliriums as experiential avoidance is shown. From this point of view, the negative symptoms are viewed as behavior-behavior relation consequences. In other hand, procedures and results of tree case-study and one randomized trial are described. Finally, we discuss the ACT mayor contributions to psychosis area, specifically clinical achievements and correspondence with psychotic symptoms “personal model”.
