Abstract

PENA-CORREAL, Telmo Eduardo. Is functional detachment a cause of psychological behavior? Commentary to "Functional detachment and Aristotelian causality: a theoretical analysis" by Emilio Ribes-Iñesta. Acta comport. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.1, pp. 55-64. ISSN 0188-8145.

Emilio Ribes-Iñesta´s paper titled "The functional detachment and Aristotelian causality: a theoretical analysis" is analyzed. This analysis is focused in four topics: (a) the concept of detachment and its antecedents in the psychological literature; (b) the concept of psychological behavior as change and interaction and its explanation; (c) Aristotelian causes and their identification with mediation (material cause) the relation structure (formal cause), the detachment (efficient cause) and the degree of adjustment (final cause); (d) the proposal for developing molar measures of these four "causes".
