Some aspects of the considerations expounded by S.L. Rubinstein and A.N. Leóntiev about a fundamental aspect in Psychology are treated: the activity as a category in Psychology, its theoretical-methodological importance to study the psyche. The author shares the idea that activity(in both the dynamic and structural aspects)can and should be the subject matter of Psychology and that psychrcal processes should be studied in the system of activity in which they held a structural place and accomplish a determined function. ln this sense, the knowledge of the relationship of the psychical processes with the motives and tasks of the subject of the activity and the place they occupy in its structure (actions, operations) is fundamental The implications of the approach basad on the activity of the subject to study the cognoscitive processes is analized, as well as the possibility of obtaining valuable and concrete data during the application of one or another technique.
