Abstract

VARGAS RUIZ, Rodrigo. Escala de actitudes hacia la tecnología en el aprendizaje escolar aplicada a niños y niñas de primaria pública en Costa Rica: Análisis de validez y confiabilidad. Actual. psicol. [online]. 2003, vol.19, n.106, pp. 24-45. ISSN 0258-6444.

In this document, the results of the validity and reliability analysis of the constructed “Attitudes toward Technology in Learning Primary School” scale, are presented. Data were collected from 504 primary students of Costa Rican public schools which take part in the National Program of Educational Informatics for Primary Education, implemented by the Costa Rican Ministry of Public Education and the Omar Dengo Foundation. The scale was primarily composed of 62 items divided in nine categories. The analysis of the scale began with a factor analysis, that allowed the reorganization of the scale categories and the remove of items with factor loadings lower 0.40. Afterwards, correlation coefficients whose values were 0.30 or higher were estimated. The reliability analysis gave as result a Cronbach coefficient of 0.73 (0.46 in dimension 1 and 0.72 in dimension 2), leading to the conclusion that the scale is reliable. Finally, a new scale was constructed with 29 items, gathered in nine categories and two dimensions.
