Using references from anthropology, art, and literature, complemented by brief mentions on the clinical work with adults is a way to zoom in and out to observe sexual abuse situations experienced in childhood and adolescence within the family. Known since Freud’s time as “the murder of the soul”, the theme is discussed using classical and current works of psychoanalysis. Different theoretical approaches help to understand the traumatic repercussion that occurs in the imaginative life and in the relationships of adult lives in the presence of this kind of experience.
