Different concepts as to what is theory and what is concept in Psychoanalysis take very different paths regarding the understanding the nature of the analytic process, as well as the forms and practices of its transmission. We consider the choice of the metapsychological resources relevant- narrowly imbricate with the challenges of the clinic, being undissociated from transference and the work of metaphor- as the one that most closely matches nature, in the negative, of the analytic work. What has been called empiric and conceptual researches supposes a positivity that does not match what is dealt with in an analysis.
