Abstract

The author, from stimuli based on Ferenczi's controversial technical propositions, and Freud's hardly optimistic vision of them, goes about examining some questions and risks concerning the analytical relationship, as a moment of daring exercise, represented by the patient's reception of the recommendations of fundamental rules and their consequences in the analyst's listening. He also briefly scrutinizes some implications, in a clinical scope, resulting from the emergence of the so-called "emptiness pathology", as well as certain contradictions and inadequacies in the use of some current terms, such as: analytical listening, analyst, psychotherapist and patient. To such an end, he uses two extracts of his private clinic.
