Abstract

PUGET, Janine. Devices and the present. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2010, vol.44, n.2, pp. 35-43. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author suggests that we should distinguish between loyalty to the contract and loyalty to the event, and between substantive power and power relations whereby subjects are defined in situations. She wonders if the corpus of psychoanalytic theory has experienced events, or rather rearrangements and progressive complexity within a shared framework. She therefore proposes taking into account the other as other, the boundaries of identificatory processes, and social subjectivity in the present. Such an approach would lead us to work with two different and conflicting models - that of a subjectivity constituted through identification, and that of a multiple subject. Some clinical vignettes are provided that illustrate these ideas.

Keywords : loyalty; contemporary; power relations; the power.
