Abstract

UNGIER, Aida. Beyond sound and fury. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2010, vol.44, n.2, pp. 91-99. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author questions contemporary clinics, underlining that our impasses are aggravated as we continue to use the theoretical model of repression in a clinic whose patients show a precarious capacity of symbolization. Clinical changes follow social changes, so that it is necessary to know them in order to contemplate the suffering they cause. She proposes a comparison between Freud's model of repression and Winnicott's model of transitionality, discussing the concept of sublimation.

Keywords : contemporary clinics; repression; transitionality; sublimation.
