Abstract

MAGDALENO JUNIOR, Ronis. The new rhythms of the twentieth century and contemporary psychoanalytic clinic. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2010, vol.44, n.2, pp. 101-109. ISSN 0486-641X.

Starting from the observed changes in culture since the late twentieth century, the author proposes a discussion about the place of the psychoanalyst in the analytic setting today, and about characteristics required for the analysis of the subject of the XXI century. The main challenges facing today for analysts are the hospitality for the radically strange and the rigor of their training. Hospitality can only be offered by an analyst who has fully incorporate the psychoanalytic method and its ethic, with this embodiment of the method in the analyst's identity structure which allows a place to stay in the culture of non-places and speed, enabling a setting possible and efficient. In these times of responses, psychoanalysis and psychoanalysts should keep its purpose in supporting the good questions.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; hospitality; psychoanalytic training; psychoanalytic method.
