The ethical and psychoanalytical conjunction generates a wide range of possibilities for reflection, an old dialogue one cannot lose sight of. In this work I try to follow a few contributions of the psychoanalysis to this field considering initially the relationship between psychoanalysis and philosophy. I review the main ideas related to the genesis of morality, the role played by civilization and by the main theories on anxiety and guilt. I finally examine the pertinence of the ethical discussion in the three dimensions in which Freud has defined psychoanalysis.
