Abstract

The present paper describes the arrival of Psychoanalysis in São Paulo, the first South American city where it was introduced. In this article, in broad lines, I initially present the pioneers of Psychoanalysis en Brazil: Durval Marcondes and Adelheid Koch. Both of them will have their names permanently engraved in the history of Brazilian Psychoanalysis, the first one as the pioneer of psychoanalytic movement in the country and the latter as pioneer in psychoanalytic training amongst us and in Latin America as a whole.
