This paper uses a clinical vignette to emphasize the importance, in the initial interviews, of the subjective rectification in the entry into analysis, causing the candidate to analysis to begin to recognize him/herself as a participant of the situation that creates pain. This work points out how a memory built through a narrative can allow the past to be reinvented in the present, making sense of drives which, failing to occur, did not exist as a psychic event.
