Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Humberto Moacir de  and  FUX, Jacques. The art of being a child: child's play and artwork from the point of view of psychoanalysis. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2012, vol.46, n.4, pp. 137-148. ISSN 0486-641X.

The nature of artistic activity, although declared by Freud as being inaccessible to psychoanalysis, has often been the subject of various kinds of psychoanalytic texts. This paper reflects on the theoretical advances achieved by psychoanalysis regarding the act of playing. Subsequently, we analyze the impact that such advances have brought to the theory of the psychic function of art. In order to better explain the relationship between play and art, we based ourselves on the main considerations on the subject prior to 1920, and analyzed the changes, since the last Freudian developments up to some of Lacan's comments.

Keywords : play; art; fantasy; repetition; psychoanalysis.
