Abstract

CASTELO FILHO, Claudio. In the frontier of "madness": creativity and the fear of insanity. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2013, vol.47, n.2, pp. 141-154. ISSN 0486-641X.

During a session the analyst has a vision that lasts a few seconds in which he sees a man that passes between himself and his analysand. 'This vision has the qualities of a real fact. It is perceived while it happens as an actual event. The analyst did not consider this vision as having a psychopathological nature (although he considered this possibility) but as something that afforded the capacity of a realization and the evolution of the situation that was going on in the session. From this experience he writes about a state of mind that would be essential to the development of creative activities and of the expansion of the capacity of thinking. He links his ideas to the ones presented by Bion, Longman, Junqueira Filho, among others, and also to communications made by significant actors and writers that go in the same direction, like the actress Fernanda Montenegro whose working process on stage, according to her daughter Fernanda Torres, takes place in an extremely dangerous and "mad" zone. Other clinical situations are also presented.

Keywords : image; dream-thought; madness; dream.
