FELDMAN, Michael  e  COTRIM, Gil Henrique Lima. Betty Joseph: evolving clinical technique. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2013, vol.47, n.3, pp. 124-128. ISSN 0486-641X.

In this paper, the author writes a short biography on Betty Joseph, followed by the main theoretical- clinical contributions of her work. Regardful of patients of difficult access, she constantly sought a way to make the interpretations understandable to the patients. She underlines the occurrence of psychic change through the emphasis on the interpretations based on what the patient experiences in the interaction with the analyst during the sessions, and not on explanatory formulations or on historical constructions. Joseph emphasizes countertransference as a guide of the transferential situation and of the enactments experienced by the pair as the possibility of observation of the perverse aspects of the patient.

Palavras-chave : Betty Joseph; countertransference; enactment; psychic changes.
