Resumen

CASSORLA, Roosevelt M. S.. In search of symbolization: dreaming bizarre objects and early traumas. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2014, vol.48, n.1, pp. 141-153. ISSN 0486-641X.

The analytical field reflects aspects of the symbolization capacity of the patient and of the analytic dyad. Through Bion's theory on thinking, the text describes the vicissitudes of symbolization that are seen in a spectrum which includes dreams and different types of non-dreams. These arise in the analytical field through clinical facts which reveal different degrees of symbolization. The clinical material illustrates how the analyst, dreaming in psychotic area (bizarre objects) and early traumatic area (psychic gestures and enactments), promotes symbolization processes. As such, the analytical process expands the symbolic net of the thought.

Palabras clave : theory of thinking; dream; non-dream; symbolization; enactment.
