Abstract

GHELLER, Julio Hirschhorn. Life slipping through fingers. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2014, vol.48, n.2, pp. 127-138. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author deals with the issue of disavowal of reality, a defense mechanism particular to perverse structures of personality, distinguishing it from repression - typical of neuroses - and from foreclosure - understood as a distinctive mark of psychoses. Based on a clinical case, the author highlights the repercussions of disavowal in the sexual identity of a patient that refuses, throughout an entire life, to accept himself, in a severe boycott to his possibilities of development. It is possible to envisage connections between the issue of disavowal and aspects derived from feelings of envy, which contribute to relationship difficulties, harm his personal progress and compromise significantly his ability of fruition.

Keywords : fetishism; envy; repression; disavowal; foreclosure; fetichismo; envidia; represión; renegación; repudio.
