Abstract

NETO, Alfredo Naffah. The issue of child sexuality by D. W. Winnicott: an attempt to correct mistaken interpretations. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2014, vol.48, n.4, pp. 83-94. ISSN 0486-641X.

This paper intends to elucidate D. W. Winnicott's conception of child sexuality, undoing numerous wrong interpretations which surround the notion, trying to support the idea that child sexuality is not formed immediately, in the first feedings, as Freud proposes, but requires a period of maturing in the child and of integration of its self in order to acquire an effective existence.

Keywords : child sexuality; death drive; imaginative elaboration of body functioning; memory.
