Abstract

JUNIOR, Ronis Magdaleno. Transference: the dynamic of affect in the healing process. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2015, vol.49, n.3, pp. 70-84. ISSN 0486-641X.

Starting from the Freudian paradox that transference is the strongest resistance to the process of analytic healing and the more potent tool towards healing, the author proposes to debate the metapsychologic branch of transference and its implications in the healing process. Two clinical illustrations attempt to demonstrate the displacement of affect that constitutes transference, and to present new possibilities of affective investment that are available to patients. This mobility is understood as "healing". This point of view has a direct influence on the analytic technique, and also has influence on the place of interpretation: it situates again the psychoanalytic device and opens up to new possibilities in treatment for patients as it separates psychoanalysis from medical and psychological models. We highlight the in-significant position of the analysts, who should stand as far away as possible from predetermined models, in order to enable affective displacements (which are compounds of the transferential process) to be established in their full potential.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; transference; psychoanalytic technique; healing.
