Abstract

DELOUYA, Daniel. Metapsychology: the ideal child, the child of our pains. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2015, vol.49, n.4, pp. 17-26. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author follows the stages of construction of the metapsychological notion, in which he exposes the discovery method. This method is typical of psychoanalysis. To this end, the author examines some excerpts from the first metapsychological essay (1915). The instinctual drive as a limitidea is questioned in relation to the way our psychoanalytic knowledge is built. And it is also analyzed as a condition for the instinctual drive to possibly open itself to the object work. This object takes part in engendering instinctual (drive) representatives, and it is involved in the result of their purposes, in order to build the representational net of the psychic life. This paper discusses the effects of the implication of object work in the clinical configuration of the female paranoia. It evokes another Freudian essay from 1915, in which Freud strives for writing a metapsychological compilation.

Keywords : metapsychology; instinctual drive; limit concept; representative; object work.
