This paper aims to contextualize 120 years of Freud's metapsychology - our perennial cornerstone. In order to achieve this goal, the author takes the centenary metapsychological papers (from 1915) as an interlocutor. He writes about its prehistory, history and, lastly, the ramifications of history. Given this context, the author believes he has created conditions to legitimate metapsychology as a prolific source, in order to explore the depths of the contemporary human being's Acheronta.
