Listening to primary forms of symbolization in psychoanalytic work. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2018, vol.52, n.2, pp. 35-53. ISSN 0486-641X.

Motivated by the exploration of new forms of contemporary practice, especially in cases of serious pathologies, psychoanalysts have paid an increasing attention to sensory motricity in practices that are considered difficult. In the therapeutic approach to these "narcissistic-identifying" pathologies, there must be conceptualizations which enable one to think of the importance of the sensory, body, and motricity. Most of the 21st-Century theoretical psychoanalysts have faced the need of introducing concepts which are specific to both think of and be responsible for the therapy of patients in limit/extreme situations of subjectivity. The common ground of these new theoretical contributions is the investigation of the effects of the first sensory-affective-motor experiences in the relationship with the object. These experiences play a vital role in either the use of processes of symbolization or their failure. The author discusses different ways of psychoanalyst's listening and intervention, ways which put the primary forms of symbolization at stake.

Palavras-chave : archaic; interpretation; narcissistic-identifying pathologies; sensory motricity; formal signifying.
