Abstract

COSTA, Gley P.  and  KATZ, Gildo. Projection and organic, affective contamination between two bodies. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2018, vol.52, n.2, pp. 113-122. ISSN 0486-641X.

The purpose of this paper is the study of the ego functioning - initial reality (Freud, 1974d/1915), especially the functional and pathological defenses that are used by newborns to deal with instinctual demands. Among these defenses, the authors highlights projection which lies on the basis, on the origin of affection, and on the formation of the protective barrier against stimulation. Failures in this barrier open door to a pathological and organic-affective contamination in the mother-baby relationship. This contamination may extend to the relationships of adult life and to the analytic setting. In this case, it may be expressed through countertransference.

Keywords : initial ego-reality; intrasomatic libido; contamination; projection; countertransference.
