Abstract

BASTOS, Liana Albernaz de Melo. Psychoanalysis and politics, or Ubuntu: I am because we are. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2018, vol.52, n.3, pp. 73-90. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author uses excerpts from the movie Paris Square (Praça Paris, 2017), directed by Lucia Murat, in order to spark a debate about the relationship between Psychoanalysis and Politics. She brings historical aspects of the urban remodeling of Rio de Janeiro. The author considers this urban remodeling a continuation of public politics of exclusion, which first started in Brazil with Portuguese colonization and have persisted ever since. The 2018 Atlas of Violence shows an increasing number of socially excluded people who are daily exposed to traumatic situations. The purpose of this paper is to connect, through Psychoanalysis, the theory of trauma and subjective constitution to social network. Psychoanalysis, as science of singularity, is political theory and practice. Psychoanalysts have tools to help in the construction of creative destinies to the violence spiral that results from social exclusion.
