Abstract

TRINCA, Walter. A model for the psychoanalytic treatment methodology. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2019, vol.53, n.1, pp. 165-179. ISSN 0486-641X.

From phobias and panic, the author starts considering the core of the psychic (mental) issue from the perspective of the existence of the inner self and the anguish of passing to the nonexistence. The core consists in one's detachment from the contact with one's own being. It is especially motivated by the death drive, from which the fragility and the anguish of dissipation of the self initially result. These two last factors, however, may be avoided by using sensoriality, which is related to mental factualization and objectification. The interaction of factors determines the nature of mental disturbances. Based on this set of factors, the author presents the Comprehensive Psychoanalysis, a methodological model for the practice of psychoanalytic therapy. In this model, each element is inserted in a general context. Self and inner being are considered different instances. Mental disturbances may be organized according to the focus or the dominant mental system.

Keywords : psychoanalytic theory; psychoanalytic methodology; mental model; analysis of factors; metapsychology.
