"Hatred in Countertransference" is one of Winnicott's fundamental texts and one of the most read in the history of the psychoanalytic movement. Little is known, however, of its antece-dents and its resurgence in this analyst's clinic, its context and its implications. This article aims to clarify them, showing how hatred is updated in the interpretive act, when analyst and patient are undifferentiated.

Keywords : hate; interpretation; identity; gender.
