Abstract

DELOUYA, Daniel. Beyond the pleasure principle: between life and death drives. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2020, vol.54, n.1, pp. 48-60. ISSN 0486-641X.

The author affirms that the pleasure principle does not exist since the beginning, but it is result of the object's work. Its objective is to take the subject from the helplessness state to the absence of the object. Besides that, the author considers destructiveness or construction in psychic life and culture not inherent to life and death drives, but to the work done with them, when the object and culture are man-aged by the custodians.

Keywords : death drive; object work; pleasure principle; news about oneself.
