The authors discuss the traumatic potential of this pandemic, showing that not everyone affected by it will be traumatized. After that, they comment on how the experience of the pandemic can take different symbolic forms according to the level of anxiety and fear that it may bring to each individual who will be able or not to mobilize their capacity for symbolic representation to integrate the experience of the different fears brought to their psyche. Three clinical examples of some of these symbolic expressions are given.
