Abstract

EIGUER, Alberto  and  JORGE, Marilei. The ideal and the trophic narcissism. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2020, vol.54, n.4, pp. 83-100. ISSN 0486-641X.

ABSTRACT This work proposes the definition of the concept of ideal, showing its difference from the ideal of the ego, superego, idealization and idolatry. The ideal is the main foundation for the subject's ethics. Consequently, this encourages the rethinking on the way superego is understood. In order to study the ideal, the author analyses its generations' origins, the parents' transfer, the reference to the ancestors, to secondary identifications. However, the ideal is not seen as accurate, as it is paradoxically reference from many people and from nobody. As the ideal of the ego is the narcissism heir, the ideal would be, more precisely, the trophic narcissism, the one that contributes for growth. At the clinic and analytical practice, the concept of the ideal allows us to embrace the call for life or survival based on certain patients' ideas or behaviors - those who seem to be loud and dazzling, usually considered a maniac defense. To support all these considerations, the author presents many clinical and designer's illustrations.

Keywords : ideal; trophic narcissism; maniac defense; creativity.
