Abstract

CERVIGNI, Mauricio Alejandro; STELZER, Florencia; ZIRALDO, Gustavo  and  ESTANISLAO BRUNO, Mariano. The new concepts of development of the dynamic structuralism paradigm. Cuad. neuropsicol. [online]. 2012, vol.6, n.1, pp. 103-112. ISSN 0718-4123.  http://dx.doi.org/10.7714/cnps/6.1.206.

The main goal of this article is to make a critical review about the classical structuralist paradigm of cognitive development. Given this goal, we firstly analyze some of the core concepts of this paradigm, mainly those ones that suggest certain "stillness" when they try to explain the development of psychological functions. Secondly, we propose an alternative approach based on Kurt Fischer cognitive model of development, as long as we consider it an example of the dynamic development perspective. Finally, we highlight the theoretical implications of the dynamic model, proposing it as an alternative to confront the explanatory difficulties of the classical paradigm.

Keywords : Dynamic structuralism; classical structuralism; cognitive development; psychological functions; classical paradigm; Cognitive skills.
