The chronic patients live changes in their activities and must adapt and confront their disease. Becoming ill, generatesconsequences different in men and women in as they are seen and they seen others. The objective ot the present investigation it was to identiiy and to describe to lhe changes and adjustments that men and women perceive with respect to the sort and family when he is coexisted with chronic-degenerative patients. 112 questionnaires to people were applied who were or had a relative with a degenera tive chronic disease. In the results observed that the men look for people who take care of them. The caretaker funciion it is tetts to the feminine figure, considering that the man works, has oceupations and "little availability of time", in addition feel anxious and aggressive. In conclusion, the differences are based in the predominant characteristics of sort in our eulture: the tecing of the man is direct and the one ot the woman through social networks.
