The presence of a chronic disease patient affects all members of the family and the caregivers usually are overworked and subject to a high level of stress. This persons are very important to the survival and well being of the chronic disease patients since they provide support to ensure compliance with the treatment. The objective of the current study was to assess therapeutic adherence among these patients and the levels of stress in the corresponding caregivers. The sample consists of 100 dyads in a patient-caregiver interaction. The measurement tools used were the therapeutic adherence scale and the daily stress inventory. The results showed that female caregivers have higher levels of stress than their male counterparts. Patients displayed a medium level of treatment adherence. There was no significant relation between caregivers' stress and therapeutic adherence in the chronic disease patient.
