Resumo

The objective of this investigation is to review the different conceptions of Superior Education based mainly from the cognitivist and behavioral posture. In the cognitivist aproximation authors like Gagne, (1965); Hilgard, (1979); Pérez Gómez, (1988); and Zabalza, (1991) amog others were reviewed; while in the behavioral posture, we have Kantor,(1978); and Guerrero (2003). The various authors propose that there is a tight* relation between aducation and learning, where different dimensions of the same are emphasized: Physical Dimension like (inside-outside) or (indoorsoutdoors); Biological Dimension like (inheritance, maturation, fatigue); Historical (experience and memory), Social (socialization, attitudes, moral); Individual (capabilities, intelligence, learning); and Dispositional like (interactive, situational and historical). With this variety of factors that participate in education and learning, a diversity of interpretations took place, getting into a polysemy of education and learning. Even though, in this work we conclude that besides the multiple conceptions of the subjects mentioned, it is necessary to precise the functions of the main integrants of education: the professor and the student. In this sense, some definitions of both are given and we try to link them up with the context in a functional way, teaching the "how" more than the "what" of the actual world full of innovations.
