The objective of this work is to register the presence of suicidal ideation and variables related in a non-random sample of 500 students of the University of Tlaxcala through the implementation of the instrument for detection of suicidal ideation in young people, designed in the research program of the FES Iztacala to obtain the relationship model for sex, through the analysis of binary logistic regression. The results show the presence of suicidal ideation in the 7.2% of the total sample, 6.9% in men and 5.4% in women. Different models of relationship between the sexes were observed and identified themselves as risk variables factors negative emotional state registration, future negative perception and perception of lack of positive future and, as variables of protection, perception of negative family economy and history of suicidal intent. It is concluded that the risk of persistence of the suicidal behavior in men than in women exceed.
