Abstract

This study investigated the relation between antisocial and criminal behaviors and the descriptors of family relationships in two urban areas in the city of Palmas-TO. The subjects were 921 citizens from both sexes and ages ranging from 10 to 21 years. The results showed no differences related to urban areas between the considered variables. Thus the internal dynamics of the family can inhibit delinquent behaviors of the youngsters independent of their social-economic condition.
