Abstract

MARIN RUEDA, Fabián Javier  and  SISTO, Fermino Fernandes. Study of the Raven Colored Matrices interpretation categories and DFH-Escala Sisto. Aletheia [online]. 2006, n.23, pp. 17-26. ISSN 1413-0394.

The present study aimed to verify evidence of concurrent validity for the Human Figure Drawing-Escala Sisto. More restrictly whether the DFH-Escala Sisto differs the interpretation categories provided by the Raven Colored Progressive Matrices. Subjects were 279 children (ages between 7-10 years old) from fundamental schools. The results showed that the children, aged from 8 to 10 years old, classified in terms of their achievement and interpretation provided by Raven manual, are differed in the DFH-Escala Sisto. Based on these results, the assumption that the DFH-Escala Sisto can be used as an intellectual level classification tool was argued, according to the instructions provided by Raven manual. However, this assumption can not hold for the age of 7, in which that differing was not observed, what could be justified by the low accuracy related in the manual of Raven.
