Abstract

SATO, Leny  and  OLIVEIRA, Fábio de. Understanding management from everyday work life. Aletheia [online]. 2008, n.27, pp. 188-197. ISSN 1413-0394.

This paper discusses the relation between psychology and management, showing the contribution that the reading of the daily routine offers to understand the work, the organising processes and, consequently its management. It illustrates the considerations made through the analysis of an episode which happened in a real work situation based on assymetry of power. It suggests that psychology's contribution to people management rests in favouring the acknowledgement of the complexity of everyday work life, and it conclude that managing work reveals not only simple prescription or obedience, but also as the creation of an existence negotiated between the different actors involved in the work activity.
