This study investigated which is the influence on denominating incurable disease those patients who look for drug addiction treatment. Four semi-estructured interviews were conducted with male individuals that were undertaking treatment and the results were assumption of the significant sick person offers a new position to the subject, which constitutes a beginning of changes. This denomination has a social signification that situates the subject in values inserted in the culture. However there is not a personal meaning for this new condition, considering the nonexistent link for this name with the individual story of those who were interviewed.
