DERENUSSON, Fernando C.  e  JABLONSKI, Bernardo. Under crossed fire: the impact of police work on the family of policemen. Aletheia [online]. 2010, n.32, pp. 22-37. ISSN 1413-0394.

In a survey among 111 wives of military policemen of Rio de Janeiro, we aimed at analyzing the impact of Police work in the family of Police workers. From the definition of two forms of impact, namely: direct (relative to the incidence of circumstantial factors of police work on the family), and indirect (relative to the effects of this work on the interaction of policemen with his family), its manifestations were analyzed from two standpoints: that of graduation, relative to the passing of time in the police force, and that of operationality, relative to the nature of the work - internal or external -on the perception of impact. Results indicate that the direct impact is prominent. Through operationality, we found that that the impact in general is felt with more intensity by the wives of policemen that work in external service. The analysis trough graduation reveals an increasing sense of impact with the passing of time in the police force.
