Protecting coexistence in the school: a proposal of community intervention. Aletheia [online]. 2010, n.33, pp. 179-189. ISSN 1413-0394.

This article describes a proposal for a community intervention in school coexistence, from the results of a participative action research, which looked for the characteristic ways of interaction in a school context (Rodríguez, Vaca, Hewitt & Martínez, 2009). While the starting point was the presence of bullying in school spaces, the community approach allowed us to conclude that, beyond bullying among peers, it existed a form of exclusion relationship between the members of the school. The proposal is aimed at parents, teachers, students and principals of the participating school, and it were based on achieving four objectives. The first objective was related to the critical analysis of Coexistence Guide, a framework document that guides the educational task. The second objective addressed the design and development of a psycho educational program to promote teamwork, conflict management, roles and interactions in daily life. Finally it was considered important to include individual counseling and / or family to community members who request it and the need for net working. Currently the proposal is implemented as part of a third phase of research.
