The field of psychological assessment for the weapon presents difficulties and limitations in their reasoning and professional practice, on the basis of the current Brazilian legislation. For that she may develop, it is necessary systematize that has been developed on the subject. In this sense, an unsystematic review was made of the national studies that deal with the psychological evaluation for possession of a firearm. For both, were carried out searches through the BVS-Psi of researches that laughter in your title or body, any reference to psychological evaluation for the weapon, using as descriptors weapon, psychological evaluation, psychological evaluation for possession of a firearm. The results pointed to 2 articles empirical, 14 works of annals, 2 dissertations and 1 book. We chose not to limit the period of publication due to the small amount of work on the theme. It is concluded that the research on psychological evaluation for porte firearm are scarce and have brought limited contributions, denoting a field lacking in scientific attention.
