Abstract

PEIXOTO, Maria Celina Lima  and  OLIVEIRA, Débora Passos de. From the platonic reminiscence to the analytics construction: a study about the Freudian memory. Aletheia [online]. 2012, n.38-39, pp. 173-185. ISSN 1413-0394.

The objective of this study is to investigate the inventive character of the Freudian memory. For Plato, the memory is thought up from two times, the trace inscription and their evocation, the relationship that the trace maintains with the perception is, since then, problematized. The Greek philosopher, in order to preserve an intelligible memory, distances it from its connection with the sensible reality. In Freud, in contrast, the memory is addressed particularly to the perception. However, Freudian memory nor can be thought of as a storehouse of experiences once lived, there is, therefore in Freud, a displacement of memory trace in relation to material reality. This gap is due to the character of Freud's memory today. So if in one hand, in Plato the understandable memory is an avoidance of mundane time, on the other, in Freud, it is a backward causation that in the construction work, rearranges the temporal dimension.
