This study aims to identify the main reasons why patients search for psychological care in a School Clinic of Porto Alegre/RS. We used a retrospective documentary research methodology, by examining patients' triages performed in the School Clinic from January/2008 to December/2012. The sample of this study is composed by the analysis of medical records from 229 adult patients who went through the service, including the cases which were not concluded up to the moment of this research making. It was verified that the most of the people assisted in the School Clinic are females (79.9%), with ages ranging from 30 to 39 years old (26.3%), and who have accomplished High School education (37.6%). Among the main reasons of search for psychological care, it was found that complaints related to Mood Disorders prevail with 47.7%, followed by 26.8% of people with disorders related to anxiety, and 15.5% of patients looked for psychological care due to complaints associated with psychosocial and environmental issues.
