Abstract

VIEIRA, Érico Douglas  and  VANDENBERGHE, Luc. The perception of psychodramatists and gestalt therapists about the factors that facilitates integration between their approaches. Aletheia [online]. 2014, n.43-44, pp. 50-65. ISSN 1413-0394.

This article describes conditions that favor integration of Psychodrama and Gestal-ttherapy that emerged in conversations with professionals of these approaches. 22 professionals with substantial involvement in either of these two movements were interviewed, 11 belonging to each approach. A grounded theory analysis was used to allow theory to emerge from the contents. Conditions that favor integration are the openness that exists in the therapist's approach; epistemological similarities with the other approach; the perception of deficits in the therapist's approach; the appreciation of integration as a way to broaden the scope of one's clinical practice. These results suggest that elements exist that can make psychotherapy integration viable.

Keywords : Gestalt-therapy; Psychodrama; Psychotherapy integration.
