GERHARDT NETO, Maria Rosalia; MEDINA, Tássita Stefani Selau  and  HIRDES, Alice. Matrix support in mental health. Aletheia [online]. 2014, n.45, pp. 139-155. ISSN 1413-0394.

This study aimed at investigating matrix-based strategies in mental health in Primary Health Care from the perspective of professionals who work in a Psychosocial Care Center. It was developed in a city located in Greater Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. It is a descriptive and exploratory qualitative study which was carried out with the professionals who work on matrix-based strategies in mental health. Data analysis comprised three steps: ordination, classification and final analysis. Results show that there is a connection between Psychosocial Care Center and primary care based on the matrix-based strategies; the place becomes a space for health co-production; and the broadened clinic goes beyond the model which focuses on illnesses and difficulties of the process. Therefore, matrix-based strategies are a tool that leads to the insertion of mental health in primary care, thus, it qualifies the integrality of care, co-responsibility and humanization of care.
